The Sensor Science and Technology Forum was organized in 2001 to bring together the many Hampton Roads companies and institutions involved in sensors research and manufacturing. Recently, Continental AG (formerly Siemens VDO) consolidated its Sensors Powertrain engineering and design division in Newport News. Other companies in this growing sensors cluster include Nascent Technology Solutions, Oceana Sensors, Polydata Systems Corp, Pressure Systems, Teledyne Hastings Instruments and more.
