19. Christopher Shores –With a stunning view of Hampton Roads harbor, Christopher Shores is among the traditionally African-American middle class neighborhoods located in Newport News.

10. Denbigh Plantation/8. Warwick Shores/5. Shore Park/3. Marina Point – These neighborhoods line the Warwick River, which, together with its inlets and tributaries, provides ample opportunity for waterfront living. Established, wooded suburban neighborhoods such as 9. Menchville, 6. Eastwood, 7. Nicewood, 4. Beechwood, 2. Beechmont and 1. Stoneybrook Estates lie inland towards Warwick Boulevard.

21. Harpersville/20. Morrison – These traditional, family-oriented neighborhoods are established and heavily wooded. Located in mid-City, they are convenient to Oyster Point, shopping and the Interstate.

13.Hidenwood/14. James Landing/12.Deep Creek – These neighborhoods, stretched out along the James River and Deep Creek, contain some of the highest income Census tracts in Newport News. Conveniently located in mid-City, these homes are near the James River Country Club, Christopher Newport University, the Mariners Museum and shopping.

16. Hilton – Located between Huntington Park and Mariners Museum Park, the Hilton area derives its character from historic Hilton Village, the first planned community in the United States. Graceful homes line the James River and tree-lined streets extend to convenient shopping.

17. Huntington Heights/18.Historic Downtown – South of the James River Bridge along the James River, these neighborhoods contain high-rise apartments, high-rise luxury waterfront condominiums and stately old homes.

23. CityCenter at Oyster Point and 22. Port Warwick – Two new urbanism communities provide unique residential experiences. Luxury, four-story elevatored apartments are a walk away from class A office space, restaurants, retail and a beautiful fountain plaza in Oyster Point Town Center. Port Warwick is a 115-acre urban village that allows you to live and work in the same unit or live along a public square in single or multi-family units.

15. Riverside – Flanked by the James River Country Club and the Mariners Museum, waterfront homes along the James River provide a spectacular view and a cool summer breeze. You can cross the Lions’ Bridge over Lake Maury to enter the Riverside neighborhood or you can pass Christopher Newport University to enter from Warwick Boulevard, one of Newport News’ primary arterial streets.

25. The Villages of Kiln Creek – This is Newport News’ newest planned community—a mixed residential use development planned around an eighteen-hole golf course. The community also has indoor tennis courts and a clubhouse. For convenience to the Interstate and to the Virginia Peninsula’s major shopping areas, this location cannot be beat. With one-third of Kiln Creek located in York County, Kiln Creek’s population is as large as the City of Williamsburg.

11. Wendwood/24. Hunter’s Glen – These neighborhoods provide executive housing on wooded lots in the center of the City, conveniently located to entertainment, shopping and the Interstate.

26. Windsor Great Park/27. Richneck – Located in the northwest quadrant of the City, these suburban neighborhoods are centers of family-oriented life in Newport News. These neighborhoods are convenient to both Fort Eustis and Newport News Park.
