SCIENCE+TECHNOLOGY MUSEUMS

Three major science and technology museums are within an hour’s drive of Newport News. The Virginia Living Museum, located in Newport News, is one of the nation’s first nature museums to create living habitats for native plant and animal species. Exhibits are outdoors and indoors and include an aquarium and aviary. The Virginia Air and Space Museum in nearby Hampton possesses what is probably the best aerospace collection outside of the Smithsonian. The museum also has the region’s only IMAX theater, which always has a selection of spectacular films to view. The Virginia Marine Science Museum in Virginia Beach contains open and contained aquariums, as well as other marine life exhibits.

Find out more about how these museums can provide hours of educational entertainment to enhance your quality of life in Newport News.
