Major concert venues for rock, jazz and country music include the Hampton Coliseum, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, the Norva and the Boathouse. Numerous clubs and restaurants offer intimate live performances of everything from reggae to bluegrass. The annual Hampton Jazz Festival has been offering a mix of jazz, R&B and blues for more than three decades. Classical music performances are provided by the Virginia Symphony, the Virginia Opera and the Virginia Chorale—all of which are headquartered in Hampton Roads. Performance venues include Chrysler Hall and various local auditoriums, as well as outdoor venues in the summertime. Small orchestra and chamber performances are common at area universities.
