CITY CENTER AT OYSTER POINT

The City Center at Oyster Point is a mixed-use, urban-scale, class A development in the middle of Oyster Point, the Virginia Peninsula’s premier office park and central business district. The City Center is being developed by Newport News City Center, LLC in partnership with the Newport News Economic Development Authority and other private investors and developers. The City of Newport News has also financed significant public infrastructure, including a magnificent 5-acre fountain plaza—the centerpiece of City Center. When completely developed, the project will contain one million square feet of office space, plus hotel, retail, entertainment and high-density residential components.

Currently, more than 410,000 square feet of office space, 140,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, a 256-room Marriott Hotel and Conference Center and 359 luxury apartments and three parking garages are already complete. Another 75,000 square feet of class-A office space, 22,500 square feet of retail and 54 luxury condominium units are now under construction. The third parking garage can be expanded in the future to accommodate additional development.

The public-private partnership between Newport News City Center, LLC and the NNEDA recognizes the significant public benefit that this project will bring to the citizens of Newport News. Altogether, at its halfway mark, City Center has created or retained more than 2,000 jobs and leveraged more than $180 million in private investment. The project brings Oyster Point to a new level of density and quality.
